The Great Tythe Barn tucked away down a tree-lined driveway amidst 200 acres of privately owned land, is a secluded and picturesque venue for weddings and conferences. The stunning Grade II listed, C16th Cotswold stone barn is the focal point of the Estate which is surrounded by former farm buildings, now transformed into 11 self-catering cottages as well as Bed & Breakfast accommodation.
Sympathetically restored, this historic tythe barn retains many original features such as exposed stone walls and wooden oak beams whilst incorporating 21st Century comforts such as under floor heating, tastefully decorated washrooms, wooden flooring, atmospheric LED lighting and tall glass entrance doors to allow plenty of natural light and views of the courtyard. The walled garden and courtyard provides an outside drinks reception in the summer months as well as a beautiful place for photo opportunities
Weddings
The ground floor of The Great Tythe Barn can seat up to 200 guests for your Wedding Breakfast. Included in the barn are 5ft round tables seating a maximum of 10 guests each, top table, cake table, ceremony and reception tables, use of 200 gold and red chairs, use of CD player(i-pod compatiable) and microphone, fully stocked cash bar, and a wedding co-ordinator to guide and advise you.
In inclement weather the Gallery provides a large area with leather sofas and optional additional tables for reception drinks. In the evening this area is usually used to serve tea and coffee to guests after the meal. It can also prove to be a useful area for a crèche, casino, games, film/photo show or any extras you would like to add to make your day even more special. Alternatively it can be used as a chill out area for those wanting to escape the music.
Meetings and Conferences
Off the beaten track yet within easy access of the M4 and M5, the Great Tythe Barn can offer a tranquil getaway for relaxed meetings, conferences and fun days in a countryside location. Providing the minimum of distractions for delegates to concentrate on the matter in hand and an ideal location for moral-building activities and fostering good working relationships between colleagues.
Team building activities and games can be arranged on site including; clay pigeon shooting, archery, buggy driving, indoor & outdoor challenges, strategic games and the Ready, Steady, Cook challenge are to name a few.
Parties and Proms
Licensed for 350 standing guests, The Great Tythe Barn has hosted many a lively party including events such as Corporate Evenings, Birthday Parties and numerous School Proms. Guests can arrive to enjoy a glass of bubbly and canapés in the garden or upstairs in the Gallery. To follow, our caterers can taylor a number of options to meet your need, some examples include: extended canapés; miniature bowls of food served cocktail style; a 3 course seated meal; a buffet; an outdoor BBQ or Hog Roast. The barn is perfect for a DJ or a band of any size, having a generous dancefloor and catered bar. Please contact the co-ordinators at the barn for special party rates.
